Paramecia and Nematode.

This detail shows four Paramecia (1) and two nematode worms (2). These organisms feed on bacteria.

The amorphous mass in which the worms are moving is the remains of a larger worm, heavily infiltrated with bacteria.

The worms burrow actively through this mass drawing in water laden with bacteria which are digested in their simple tubular digestive systems.
